Some Interesting Facts About Radhika Apte

1. Radhika Apte, a Marathi girl, comes from a family of doctors. Her father Charudutt Apte is the high operating surgeon and also the Chairman of Sahyadri Hospital in Pune.

2. Since her childhood, her favorite subject was Mathematics. Her grandmother, Madhumalati Apte, taught her maths as she was a mathematician and a Ph.D. from France.

3. She received training in Kathak dance for eight years.

4. Radhika started doing Marathi theatre plays at the age of 18. Her debut play was Nako Re Baba (2003).

5. She has also done several plays in Hindi and English languages.

6. Radhika Apte is associated with Mohit Takalkar’s theatre troupe Aasakta Kalamanch in Pune.

7. Some of her notable theatre plays are Purnaviram, Kanyadaan, Brain Surgeon, Tu, Matra Ratra,  Bombay Black, That Time, etc.

8. And, by playing the role of Anjali in the Bollywood film, Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!, she started her acting career in 2005. 

9. Rather than doing typical glamorous roles, she loves doing grey roles.

Controversies

1. Apte's lewd pics went viral on Feb 2015. However, after several investigations, it was found that the pics were not hers, but of her look-alike.

2. Once she criticized the Telugu film industry and made a bold statement against the industry for being very "male-chauvinist" and "patriarchal." She also stated that actresses over there are not treated well, saying she had struggled the most with the Telugu film industry.

3. Once a video of Apte went viral in which Radhika was lifting her clothes in front of the camera, which was a clip of Anurag Kashyap’s short film. In the Cyber Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police, a complaint was filed.
