Recently the shop has celebrated its expansion. Now the cheese castle has grown doubled in size. It’s not a castle on the outside but also holds the rooms that are specifically devoted to more than 700 kinds of cheese and a huge dining room fit for a king. 

Earlier the Mars Cheese Castle was constructed on the 24000 square feet; it has now expanded to 46000 square feet. The tourist attraction had a grand reopening celebration through music, samples of beer and food.

How The Mars Cheese Castle Shop Began? 

The name of the shop was inspired by its owner – Mario Ventura. The name Mario comes from the god ‘Mars’ and the castle was inspired by a castle in Italy purchased by Ventura’s mother. 

The logo of the store was designed by Kenosha artist George Pollard. Initially, the store featured a large beer bottle on its roof, but it was burnt down and a new story was built nearby. It remained to thrive for next five decades and became the popular and the busiest interstate between Milwaukee and Chicago. (1.1)

Then in 2011, due to highway expansion, the shop has to relocate and the old building was again replaced by a new castle.
