Medical Causes of Menstrual Cramps
Menstrual cramps are caused by tightening in the uterus that is a muscle. The uterus; a pear-shaped organ where a baby grows, becomes tight during a woman’s menstrual cycle. When the uterus contracts very strongly, it can compress against close by blood vessels, cutting off the flow of Oxygen to the muscle of the uterus. Pain occurs when segments of the muscle temporarily loses its flow or supply of Oxygen.
