Tasmania is an island state in Australia. It is the 26th largest island in the world. It is named after the Dutch explorer Abel Tasman who reported this first European sighting in 1942. Tasman named the island after its sponsor Anthony Van Diemen as “Anthony van Diemen’s Land” who was the governor of Dutch East Indies. Britishers shortened the island’s name to Van Diemen’s Land. In 1956, the island was renamed as Tasmania in the honour of its first discoverer.
This was all about its history. But this beautiful land is still hidden with respect to its tourism. Let’s know a bit more about this place as far as the attractions are concerned.
