Incubating chicken egg’s and objects are amongst the famous artifacts kept in this tiny museum. In fact, the museum is a micro-sized tiny space that if you are near 6 ft you will need to bend it to get inside. The museum itself describes as ‘a place about the world we live in’.

Mmuseumm first wing was opened in 2012 in an elevator shaft. The second wing was opened in 2015 three doors down. This tiny space features permanent collections specializing in the ‘dismissed’ or ‘ignored’. It offers an opportunity to engage with exotic and familiar objects every day across the world.

This tiny and the fascinating museum is created by filmmakers Alex Kalman, Benny and Josh Safdie, sponsored by Kate Spade of the pursue empire. The trio runs a production company ‘Red Bucket Films’ in the same building as their museum. (17.1)

At 20 square feet, Mmuseumm 2 is even a small physical experience. This space currently offers a very touching experience of 14-year-old Mohammed Qutaish, a Syrian boy who creates a paper model, paper buildings believing that they would become real one day.

The Mmuseumm showcases the range of items organized under 16 themes. Some pieces are crafted and assembled by artists while some are selected by the museum. There are 12 real eggs sitting within a designed vitrine kept at 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Another fascinating thing, you will notice is the collection of 3D printed human masks produced by artist Heather Dewey- Hagborg. To form the faces, the artists extracted DNA from chewing gum and other sources discarded by people she ever met.

You can even find the cornflakes index that consists of 30 individual cornflakes, each varying in color and shape.

The museum is situated down the alley and looks like there’s nothing along it. You can only find few people visiting or standing outside if it is open, otherwise look for the steel door, with a small window.

The thought-provoking experience of Museum is actually accompanied with the ultimate look of the modern artifacts and society.

Visitors may call 800 to access a free audio guide to the museum. Museum 1 and Museum 2 wing is described here; hoping for the Museum 3… next??
