But have you ever wondered that unusual things like playing video games and skipping showers could also do wonders for your health? Weirdest things like going barefoot can also help you in living longer.
Playing video games and eating junk food is strictly no for children in most households. Surprisingly, a beautiful 90 years old woman shared a secret to her long life, and it is related to video games. Hamako Mori from Japan is the world’s oldest gaming Youtuber. You won’t believe it, but she has over 250,000 followers. Also known as Gamer Grandma, the lady started playing video games 40 years ago.
She proved that age is merely a number. When you are passionate about anything, you don’t need a reason to work on it. Initially, Hamako Mori finds playing video games difficult, but she now enjoys streaming them anytime.
“After living for this long, I feel more than ever that playing games for this long was the right choice. I am truly enjoying my life — it’s rosy.”
“When I started playing, I wasn’t good at all. Although its fun playing, when you fail its tough. But to end the game smoothly, that feels good.”
Born on 18th February 1930, Hamako developed an interest in video games when she saw children playing it. She thought it is not fair to say that only children should play video games. She then spent some time playing these games.
“It looked so much fun, and I thought it's not fair if only children played it. I thought life would be more fun if I knew how to play it. So I started playing, at first while no one was watching.”
Hamako Mori is a Guinness world record holder for the oldest YouTuber. This record might look genuine, but several Guinness world records are strange and question humankind’s sanity.
The first game she owned was Cassette Vision. She still has those old video games with her as memories. Currently, she is playing action games. She is playing PS4 and is obsessed with it.
"I didn't touch it until recently because it's difficult to play. But recent action games are visually spectacular, and they often use actors for characters. So I'm really obsessed with it now."
Grand Theft Auto V is her favorite game. The amazing part about this game is it has age restrictions, and children can’t play it. She wanted to share her gaming experience with others, and that’s why she started her YouTube channel. She posts 3-4 videos a week on her channel and loves how people react to it. She is touched by caring comments that she receives from her fans.
"I receive a lot of comments saying don't work too hard. Everyone is so kind. Their comment leave a strong impression on me, and makes me want to make more videos that people enjoy. I still look forward to everyone's comments.”
“They also say watching my video gives them hope for the future. I feel so happy. That's why I want to create lots and lots of videos. That's my dream."
She claims that playing video games rejuvenates her spirit. Today she spends nearly 7-8 hours a day playing video games.
