Some Interesting Facts About Yogi Adityanath

• Yogi Adityanath’s birth name is Ajay Mohan Bisht, but he changed his name after his indoctrination into the Nath sect and adopting priesthood.

• He is also the head priest of the Gorakhnath Math, a Hindu Temple in Gorakhpur. 

• He is also the founder of Hindu Yuva Vahini, a youth organization that is involved in communal violence. They aimed to declare cow as Rashtra Mata. They even started a missed-call subscription initiative in Aligarh to gather support for the cause.

• While studying BSc, Yogi decided to fight the students Union elections. He independently stood for the election but lost it.

• He was never on good terms with the BJP. He did not agree with the party's stance on women's reservation bill in 2010. 

• He won a seat as a member of Parliament at the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998 and became the youngest legislator of the Lok Sabha. He achieved this position from the same constituency five times.

• He brings up the issues of religious conversions in relationships. He said that if one Hindu girl is converted to Islam, then they will convert 100 Muslim women to Hinduism.

• His name is also linked with the 2007 communal violence that broke out in UP. His speeches allegedly led to the riots in the state.
