10 Longest Running Anime You Should Watch At Least Once in Your Lifetime

What could be more happening than getting engaged to an anime, to a story that is so interesting and dynamic that you can’t help but get involved more and more into your favorite characters?

Over the years, the anime industry has become more forward to the airing shows which eventually have no end game in sight. After spending countless of hours watching your silly character’s story, the show finally comes to an end. This may leave some serious fans to feel bad, and they are nothing left searching for a new show to be on the air.

While some anime fans may argue that they prefer quantity over quality, there are some who prefer a show to last only for 10-15 episodes, the only condition is it should be good. Thanks to animation studios, there are plenty of unending anime series which could entertain you for long and long of hours…

1. Gin Tama

Set in Tokyo, Gin Tama anime revolves around the perspective of a Samurai after the city has been invaded by aliens. The anime started in 2006 and is still in production with more than 300 episodes of this writing.

The episodes of this anime were animated by Sunrise. Gin Tama plots around the Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura, and teenage girl Kagura. All three are freelancers who look for the work in order to pay monthly rent which goes unpaid anyway.

A Japanese Bleach anime is a popular television series that ran for a total of 366 episodes. The series was directed and produced by Noriyuki Abe and Studio Pierrot respectively. The anime series showcased the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki just after when he receives the super powers of a Soul Reaper (basically a Grim Reaper).

5. Ninja Hattori – Kun – 696 Episodes

Ninja Hattori – Kun is a manga series created by Fujiko Fujio, but was later adapted into a television drama, video game and as a live action movie. The series was adapted into an anime series in 2012 as the collaboration between Japan and India. Ninja Hattori – Kun, however, ran from 1981-1987 and had nearly 700 episodes on air.

6. One Piece – 811 Episodes

One piece has received praise for its humor, animation, characterization, and storytelling. This popular series follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy – a boy whose body gained the characteristics of rubber after eating a Devil Fruit. One piece has racked up more than 800 episodes since 1990.

With its mysterious artwork, Crayon Shin-chan might look like a kid’s show. However, the show is not exactly suited to younger generations. The story revolves around a boy named Shin-Chan who is surrounded by family and friends. His bold attitude and brilliant sense of humor put a boy in strange and comic situations.
