2015 Appointed as the Governor of Bihar by the President of India.

2017 On 20 June 2017 he resigned from the post of Governor of Bihar after his name was announced by the NDA as their nominee for the Presidential Election.

Political Career and Facts

1. Mr. Kovind, a Dalit BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh, was the former national spokesperson of BJP and a member of Rajya Sabha from April 1994 to March 2006.
2. From 1977 to 1979, he was Central Government Advocate in the Delhi High Court.
3. Also, in 1978, he was the advocate on record in the Supreme Court.
4. From 1980 to 1983, he was the Central Government counsel in the Supreme Court.
5. He headed the BJPs Scheduled Caste Morcha between 1999 and 2002, from 1980 to 1983.
6. First from 1994 to 2000 and later from 2000 to 2006, Kovind got elected to Rajya Sabha twice.
7. On August 2015, Ramnath was appointed as Governor of Bihar by the President of India.
8. Later, BJP President Amit Shah declared him the NDA candidate for the post of President of India on June 19, 2017.
9. And, since 25 July 2017, Mr. Kovind is serving as the 14th President of India.
